You say we are poor

But you have stolen our houses and lands

You say we are dirty

But you have ruined our wells

You say we live in squalor

But you have herded us into filthy camps

You say we are ignorant

But you have closed our schools and deported our teachers

You say our faith has held us in oppression

But it’s not our faith

Who is it, holding us in oppression

And stealing our water, our lives?

Who is it, taking our possessions

And holding us hostage?

Who is it, forcing our kids to learn in stifling tents

Instead of a comfortable school?

That would be you, O Israel!

That would only be you!
